From Master Jackie Zhao:
My Thoughts on Earning the 7th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo In Taekwondo, getting a 7th Dan Black Belt is a big dream for all of us. I’ve worked hard for this goal for a long time. When I first started, I just loved Taekwondo, but later, I trained hard every day. It wasn’t easy, with lots of sweat, but I never thought of quitting. The day of the 7th Dan test was full of nerves and hope. During the test, I did my best on every move, showing everything I learned over the years. When I finally knew I passed, I wasn’t as excited as I thought. I didn’t feel like showing off. At the test place, all the lights were on me. My 师父 came to me, holding the 7th Dan belt. He put it on me very seriously. In that moment, time seemed to stop. Looking at the belt, I didn’t feel excited or want to brag. Instead, I felt a strong sense of duty. I know this belt isn’t just a symbol. It means a big responsibility. Taekwondo is not just a sport to me. It’s a part of my life. Now, I’m thinking about how I can help Taekwondo grow. I want more people to love it and see how great it is. For the CHITF International Taekwondo League that helped me grow, I feel I must do my part. I’ll work hard to make it better. When I teach, I’ll share everything I know to help new students. I want to help them become good Taekwondo practicers. In the future, I’ll keep going with this responsibility. I’ll keep getting better at Taekwondo and do all I can to make the sport and the league grow.

2025 – CHITF President New Year Message

Dear All,

Happy, Healthy New 2025!

I send you my warm regards as you celebrate this New Year!

On behalf of CHITF I am very happy to deliver this New Year message and ask you to share this with our valued members and CHITF supporters.

This year we celebrate our CHITF 11th Anniversary. I thank you for your trust and support as always. We have encountered many obstacles and difficulties in the past 10 years. With positive energy and determination, we have pursued our CHITF Mission to uphold our utmost respected Founder’s original technique and philosophy through two CHITF World Championships, Continental Championships and many international Seminars. We unite together with the strong CHITF Leadership to overcome all obstacles and continue to promote our beliefs. We are steadily turning the corner! CHITF has been sharpened into a mature and technical international organization.

TaeKwon-Do is education. We nurture the youth to see the values of life through cultivating oneself in enhancing health, wisdom and moral culture. We help to produce great citizens and to build a more

peaceful world. Well-cultivated Individuals are members of a family, who in harmony, will contribute to a more peaceful world.

One of the powerful tools of TaeKwon-Do is healing! Each person’s life journey is unique, when one encounters difficult times, TaeKwon-Do can help us heal, both in physically and mentally.

Go to the dojang to see your instructors, your peers. After a good class, some meditation and discussions with your mentor, you will feel rejuvenated; have fresh thinking, and positive energy toward a new direction. It is an incredible healing positive process.

In 2024 we congratulate the promotions of two SGMs, four Grand Masters and many SMs and Masters!

In 2024 we also warmly welcome CHITF Uruguay, CHITF Italy, CHITF Africa Council, CHITF Mozambique

In 2025 we welcome SM Julio Penayo, Gral St. Martin of Argentina, Master Robert Carr (Nova Scotia, Canada)

This 2025 CHITF will focus on our November 14-16 the 3rd CHITF World Open Championship in San Juan Puerto Rico! CHITF Puerto-Rico, Sabum Julio R. Carcano has informed me 20 countries have confirmed their participations and more are expected in the coming months. Puerto-Rico alone will have more 700 participants from all lines of ITF. I estimate there will be more than 1200 competitors in this beautiful sun-shine Island of Puerto Rico!

I am looking forward to working side by side with each of you to promote and to preserve the Original TaeKwon-Do created by our Founder.

Happy New Year!
SGM Phap Lu

Testimonials / Feedback

2024 – April:

“As a parent who embarked on my Taekwon-Do journey nearly 18 years ago, I’ve witnessed its profound impact not only on myself but on my children as well. While they’ve grown into busy adults with families of their own, Taekwon-Do remains a steadfast pillar in my life. It’s more than just a martial art; it’s a lifelong commitment to self-improvement and resilience. Even as our lives have evolved, the lessons learned on the mat continue to shape us, instilling discipline, confidence, and a deep sense of connection. Taekwon-Do isn’t just a hobby; it’s a legacy I’m proud to share with my family, a reminder of our shared journey and the values that bind us together across generations.”
Theresa Osterhout, 4th Dan, Canada
