CHITF has attracted more members since its establishment due to the CHITF’s nature with no Koreas politics and any government interfere and involvement. CHITF just does pure original TAEKWON-DO!

TaeKwon-Do’s story stretches back to 1955 when our beloved Founder, Gen. Choi Hong Hi, formed this beautiful martial art, to the first group of TaeKwon-Do Pioneers who dedicated their lives to spread the art with their passion, and who built their lives in TaeKwon-Do. The vision of our Founder, among others, gave rise to the International TaeKwon-Do Federation- an early mother union; becoming one of the moments that has come to define Chan Hun International TaeKwon-Do Federation.

In the 60 years since, we have continued to grow and define ourselves as a big TaeKwon-Do family. We believe in our values that connect us, our dearest values – equality, diversity and freedom of the individual. TaeKwon-Do is an art of Self-defence to enhance both one’s spirit and one’s health.

Gen. Choi had taught us that in order to defeat your enemy in war or in sparring you first have to win over yourself through life experience and work. He said: the TRUTH everyone knows but one has to go through a long process of toughening through tasks in life to really UNDERSTAND it. TaeKwon-Doist should cultivate their spirit, expand their knowledge in all aspects and maintain great health to serve. By saying that you don’t have time to improve your spirit, your body and your life is like saying you don’t have time to stop for gas because you are too busy driving. Eventually it will catch up with you. Gen. Choi said: how can you care for others if you can’t even care for yourself and how can you do good if you don’t even feel good. Those are the TaeKwon-Do values and our belief in building a more peaceful world.

“Our efforts toward reconciliation reflect a deep TaeKwon-Do tradition – the belief that better is always possible. Our job now is to ensure every TaeKwon-Doist has a real and fair chance at success. Particularly, we must create the right conditions so that our Special Needs TaeKwon-Doist, and those working hard to join it, can gain a better martial art education.

This is Chan Hun International TaeKwon-Do Federation (CHITF).
